Who I teach

I have decades of experience working with kids, teens, and adults. Each age group has distinct needs and challenges for progressing in music lessons. Having taught hundreds of students in the past, I’m capable of helping students meet their goals competently and efficiently.

Lessons for Kids

Proper guidance and structure help young learners thrive. Whether piano or guitar, the fundamentals are the same: posture, technique, tone-production, rhythm, and musical expression. I work with each student to build mastery one concept at a time, one week at a time. Never rushing, always celebrating small wins. This keeps kids engaged and confident.

Lessons for Teens

Teens learn best when lessons match their learning style, some read music, others learn by ear from recordings. I teach both ways, starting with technique, tone, rhythm, and expression. Then we progress toward students’ goals: joining a band, auditioning for ensembles, or college prep. Students enjoy measurable weekly progress and real artistic growth.

Lessons for Adults

Music lessons offer relief from stress and a path to self-discovery. We start where you are, building from your background and goals. Reconnect with childhood passion or explore something new. Learn specific songs, improvise, or play purely for joy. Measurable weekly progress builds real accomplishment and lasting fulfillment. That’s what matters most.

Real Progress

Real Students, Real Progress

I’ve had Former students go on to join high school jazz bands and pop groups, write and perform their own original songs, get accepted into university music programs, and even build careers as professional musicians. That’s the kind of progress this studio is built to produce, one lesson at a time.

“Warren has been teaching my son for over three years now. We started with another teacher,
then transferred to Warren a couple of months later. Best move we could’ve made! He’s been great and my son looks forward to his lesson every week!”

FAQ

Got questions before you start? You’re not alone. Here are the eight things I hear most from parents, teens, and adults thinking about lessons. If your question isn’t here, send me a message; I’m happy to talk through any other concerns you might have.

What age can my kids start lessons?

I start students in 3rd grade and up (usually around age 8 or 9). By this age, kids have the focus, hand coordination, and reading skills needed to succeed. If you have a younger child (2nd grade) who is reading fluently and highly motivated, we can evaluate their readiness during a trial lesson.

Can I fit lessons around my work schedule?

Yes, I offer lessons during weekday evenings (3:30 PM – 8:30 PM, Monday–Thursday) and Saturday mornings (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM). I also offer flexible bi-weekly scheduling for adults to give you breathing room to practice between lessons.

Do we need to buy an instrument before the first lesson?

No. Come to your trial lesson empty-handed. We will discuss which instrument fits your child and where to find affordable local or used options before you make any purchases.

What instruments do you teach?

I teach one-on-one private lessons for piano, guitar (acoustic and electric), and bass. If you are undecided, we can figure out the best instrument for your goals during a trial lesson.

What if we need to reschedule? Do we lose the lesson?

As long as you give me 24 hours notice, we’ll find another time that week to make it up. The only catch: if you cancel with less than 24 hours, that lesson is gone. Flexibility is built in for families who plan ahead.

How much are lessons and what’s included?

Weekly lessons start at $25 for 30 minutes. Lessons are billed monthly with no sign-up fees or registration fees. View full pricing details

I’m an adult and never learned music. Isn’t it too late to start?

It is never too late! I teach many adults who picked up an instrument for the first time in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. We move at your own pace and focus on the songs and genres you actually want to play.

How often should I or my kid practice?

Aim for 30 to 45 minutes a day, six days a week. Consistent, daily practice, even broken into focused 15-minute sessions is much more effective for learning than practicing for two hours just once a week.
